Kim Kardashian dons mermaid Halloween costume while out with Kanye West - See photos

Kim Kardashian had some inspiration for a recent costume she wore to a Halloween party on Saturday, October 27, from the 1984 movie "Splash" with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah.

The reality showed up to Midori Green Halloween party in New York dressed up as a blonde mermaid with boyfriend Kanye West as a sailor. Kardashian has an endorsement deal with the liquor company.

Kardashian told The Associated Press at the event that her look was inspired by the Tom Hanks film and that it took her two months to plan her costume and two hours to get ready.

The "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star also Tweeted several photos of herself and West at the event along with friend LaLa Vazquez Anthony. One photo of her and West that was posted on her Instagram account has the caption "Me & my captain!"

She previously teased to her Twitter followers that she perhaps thought about donning a leopard costume to Halloween this year. Her mot! her, Kris! Jenner, dressed as the viral video sensation Psy, a Korean rapper known for his hit song "Gangnam Style," to a different event also held on Saturday.

Last Halloween, Kardashian filed for divorce from husband Kris Humphries after 72 days of marriage. Just a few days before the filing, Kardashian appeared at a Halloween party dressed as the Batman villain Poison Ivy.

Kardashian first went public with her romance with Kanye West in April. She is still in the midst of a legal battle regarding her divorce from Humphries. Last week the Kardashian turned 32 and she and West celebrated her birthday during a vacation in Italy.
