While Kim Kardashian was expected a romantic getaway to Rome for her birthday celebrations, it's been reported that Kanye West actually "roped" the star into helping with his campaigning efforts for Barack Obama.

According to The Sun newspaper, the 'Clique' rapper twisted the reality star's arm into doing administrative work for Barack's re-election campaign justv before her birthday.

"Kim was expecting her birthday weekend to be all candlelit dinners - even a proposal with a diamond ring," an insider told the tabloid.

"But Kanye's determined to see Obama back in office and got Kim to help with paperworkand persuading celebrity pals to give their support," the source added.

So much for being spoilt rotten with champagne and fine dining. We're sure Kanye repaid Kimmy for all her hard efforts.
