Kanye West Returns to Twitter With Steve Jobs Rant
The thought of a Twitter world without Kanye West was almost unbearable. Gone were all those angry, ALL-CAP rants that spilled over 140 characters when the "Runaway" rapper seemingly terminated his Twitter account earlier this week. But just as soon as West left Twitter, he is back on the social networking site with a new rant. West shared his respect for Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who passed away a year ago Oct. 5 due to pancreatic cancer.
"WE LOST STEVE A YEAR AGO TODAY" tweeted West. "HE IS ONE OF THE MOST INSPIRING AND INFLUENTIAL HUMAN BEINGS OF OUR EXISTENCE ALONG WITH MICHAEL JACKSON, WALT DISNEY, AND DR. KING. LET'S BE THANKFUL FOR HIS LIFE AND RESPECT HIS LEGACY BY NEVER COMPROMISING ON OUR FUTURE."
West's past tweets were all deleted earlier this week and replaced with the message "BE BACK SOON." Why? No one can say for sure but sad considering the Chicago-bred rapper's tweets were something of a pop culture phenomenon, often so entertaining that they became news stories themselves. West used Twitter in an effort to vent his frustrations . Among his most noted tweets were his apology to Taylor Swift for storming her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, or the time he sounded off on his delayed, botched set at the 2008 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festiv! al. All these tweets are now lost artifacts survived by the good ol' RT.
