Kanye West To Headline UR1 Festival in Miami
Kanye West will lead the lineup of the inaugural UR1 Music Festival, a showcase of music and art that will be held at Miami's Bayfront Park on Dec. 8-9.
Although the full lineup has not been revealed, West will be joined on the bill by fun., Santigold, The Offspring, Keane, Lou Reed, Cocoon Heroes, Erick Morillo and Bob Sinclair. Coinciding with Art Basel Miami, an annual exhibition in stemming from an international art fair in Switzerland, UR1 will also feature the work of rising artists in on-site galleries.
"I want to believe that Kanye and his team see what we are creating with this fusion of art and music, and that was what was appealing to them," says Emi Guerra, who co-created the festival with Ultra Music Festival co-founder Alex Omes. In addition, two music stages will be curated by The Fader and Reignfield Arena.
After touring alongside Jay-Z on their Watch The Throne trek over the past year, West made a surprise appearance at Jay's Made In America headlining set on Saturday night (Sept. 1). West is currently prepping the release of his GOOD Music compilation "Cruel Summer," set to hit stores on Sept. 18.
