Kanye West's Lawyers Issue Cease & Desist, Say Sex Tape Was Stolen

More details emerge in the Kanye West sex tape saga. While the authenticity of West's sex tape remained uncertain, lawyers for the Chicago-bred rapper inadvertentl y provided confirmation with a cease and desist letter that is being served to various media outlets. In the letter, West's team alleges that the footage is contraband as it was illegally taken and/or stolen from the rapper's computer.

Lawyers for West sent a takedown letter to AllHipHop.co m demanding that they remove the image taken of West from the rumored XXX-rated film that is surfing the Internet.

Be advised that the Screen Shot, as well as the Tape from which the Screen Shot was taken, were illegally obtained and believed to have been stolen from Mr. Wests computer, the letter from West's lawyer stated. Your posting, advertising, marketing, displaying and otherwise disseminatin g the stolen Screen Shot and/or other materials on the Tape constitute actionable violations of Mr. Wests rights of privacy and publicity, added the notice.

We hereby demand that you: (1) immediately cease and desist from posting, advertising, marketing, displaying and disseminatin g the illegally obtained Screen Shot of Mr. West, the notice continues. Other demands include, that if known, the name of the person or persons approaching media sites with "the Tape" be surrendered, as well as any "other materials from the Tape."

On Friday, RadarOnline, who took down their screen shot already, reported that a West sex tape featuring a Kim Kardashian look-alike was being shopped to various outlets. The gossip site said they had seen the homemade video and could varify West was in fact the star of the film. West's lawyers state that any footage or photos from "the Tape" are considered "violations of privacy and publicity rights."

In other news, some outlets are also reporting that it is in fact Kim Kardashian on "the Tape," and not a look-alike.

This isn't the first time West's computer has been hacked. The tracklist to the rapper's phenomenal album My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy was leaked as well.
