French Montana Calls Kanye West 'Brilliant' For Not Having Cell Phone

Technology has done more than just help hip-hop expand and grow into a multi-billion dollar industry. New music once took months to reach the masses. Now, a single email can have a rappers music into millions of consumers smart phones.

For newly signed Bad Boy artist, French Montana, a single email also had him meeting with one of the biggest rappers in the game. Just hours before the BX rapper made his deal official with Diddy and Bad Boy, Kanye West reached out to Montana via E-mail.

Though, the deal never materialized, French and Kanyes names remained in rap headlines for weeks. French openly admitted that Yes lack of cell phone may have deterred him from joining the G.O.O.D. Music family.

However, the two remain as close allies and friends. Last week, Bad Boys new savior put the nail in the coffin on this subject with VIBE.com.

French Montana: I always thought it was brilliant for Kanye not to have a phone. Its like, with me, I deal with people different. Its not like I dont use [E-mail]. Everybody uses E-mail. I go on there to check for beats but I dont really be hitting people on it to talk.

I like to talk to people, especially when my whole career is in your hands. Sometimes, I just want to hit you like in the middle of the night like Look I just came up with this. Im more that kind of person, hand to hand with it. I mean I feel like at times I dont want no phone, either. If you are at a certain! level l ike Kanye is at, most of the people who are calling your phone, are people who are going to ask you for something, negative energy.
