Slide show: Jay-Z & Kanye West at Staples Center

This space will eventually include a proper review of Jay-Z & Kanye Wests powerhouse performance Sunday night at Staples Center, the first of three shows at the arena this week on the titans of hip-hop.

If it isnt quite the inspired stunner Kanye delivered to close out Coachella in April, the pairs raw but glittering Watch the Throne production is nonetheless a tremendous show of hard-hitting force thats worth the admission price. Without relying too heavily on abbreviated renditions, they crammed in nearly 40 songs in more than two hours, including virtually every significant hit either artist has recorded, plus a half-hour of N****s in Paris to finish it all off club style two takes to end the main set, five more in the encore. That sh*t crazy indeed.

Ill post a fuller piece sometime this evening. But Jay & Yes timing couldnt have made for a more jam-packed! Monday, already piled up with our coverage of the second half of KROQs Almost Acoustic Christmas, breaking news from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ryan Adams, and a report from Andrea Bocellis return to Anaheim.

Gotta refuel my brain, then filter through thoughts. In the meantime, enjoy the slide show.
