Warner Bros. Play Down Kanye West's Input In New 'Jetsons' Movie
People were left scratching their heads last week after Kanye West, as part of a rambling, three-hour rant on Twitter, announced his attachment as 'creative director' to a new Jetsons film project.
Now Warner Bros. producers have clarified the statement, saying, although there have been informal talks with Yeezy about The Jetsons cartoon in general, nothing official has been decided - and certainly not any negotiations about a role as creative director.
Producer Densie Di Novi recently told NY Mag:"I don't know him; until yesterday, I'd never talked to him in my life. I don't know what else to tell you. He's not the creative director on the movie, but I loved his passion for The Jetsons."
According to Novi, it was a "free-form conversation" that ended on a 'if you come up with any ideas, let us know' note.
Kanye is known to be a devoted fan of The Jetsons, with at least four paintings of characters from the show adorning the living room walls of his apartment.
