Kanye West Took 'Brainstorming' 'Jetsons' Film Meeting
Beyond thoughts on his fashion career and the launch of his new company, DONDA, Kanye West's Wednesday night Twitter revelations included mention of a potential gig as creative director of "The Jetsons" live-action movie. And West did indeed have a meeting about the film, producer Denise Di Novi confirmed to MTV News.
"Kanye's always been a 'Jetsons' fan, I think because he's so into design and he loves the design aspects," Di Novi told the site. "So we had a fun brainstorming conversation."
The hip-hop star "reached out and said he's a huge Jetsons fans," she continued.
The Hanna-Barbera cartoon, which depicted the misadventures of a futuristic family and their robot maid, first aired on television the '60s and returned two decades later. It made its big-screen debut with the 1990 animated film "The Jetsons," with the live-action version currently in development.
"He was interested in creatively brainstorming what we were doing with the movie and what ideas he might have," Di Novi said of West's possible involvement. "It was a really friendly, preliminary conversation."
However, no decision was made: "He was going to think about it more and see if he got inspired visually," she said.
As for West's hurt feelings at the suggestion that he should do a "Jetsons" tour, Di Nova said, "We were just kind of joking about that it was just a fun comment."
