Kanye West might have started designing clothes but even the rapper has now conceded his foray into leather skirts was a massive fashion no-no and has reportedly asked picture agency Getty images to delete every snap of him wearing the embarrassing fashion faux pas.

The leather kilt style was worn by the 'Church In The Wild' star during his 'Watch The Throne' tour with Jay Z leading to a slew of criticism from peers in the music world, including Chris Brown and Lord Jamar, who wrote a track 'Lift Up Your Skirt' about the fashion choice.

With one lyric reportedly aimed at Kanye: He introduced the skinny jeans to the rap scene/Then he wore a f***ing skirt on the video screen/Then he wore it again at a memorial/I cant pretend this sh*t aint deplorable.

The skirt got particular attention at the Hurricane Sandy Benefit in December last year. His look didn't go down too well with fellow rapper Common, who wrote on Twitter: "Pyrex and a skirt? S*** ain't adding up And if u co-sign this I'm blocking u!! Straight up. Ima have to save us."

The skirt caused quite a stir on the social networking site as fans tweeted in disbelief as his wardrobe choice and even got it's own parody account ! @KanyesSkirt which soon attracted over 1000 followers, posting messages including: Sorry everybody. This is awkward for me too.#121212Concert and: Really dude? Get off stage. Im smelling funky things down here.#121212Concert

Now, in an attempt to erase all memory of the embarrassing display, The Sun, claims Kanye has asked Getty Images to remove all shots of him in the skirt at the benefit gig.
