LOS ANGELES -- Kanye West will carry a leading seven nominations into tonight's presentation of the 2012 BET Awards, but Beyonce is close behind with six and her husband, Jay-Z, has five.
The awards will be presented at the Shrine Auditorium in a ceremony hosted by Samuel L. Jackson. The show is expected to include performances by Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown.
Jay-Z and West earned multiple nominations for their collaboration as The Throne, while Beyonce scored a nomination for best female R&B artist, along with Marsha Ambrosius, Mary J. Blige, Melanie Fiona and Rihanna.
Brown was nominated for best male R&B artist, along with Bruno Mars, Miguel, Trey Songz and Usher.
Jay-Z and West were nominated as The Throne for best group, along with Bad Meets Evil, Diddy-Dirty Money, Maybach Music Group and Mindless Behavior.
