Kanye West stunned fans at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas on Wednesday night when he showed up unannounced to perform with rising rapper 2 Chainz.
Just two nights after his Watch The Throne collaborator and friend Jay-Z played a last-minute set at the music and arts festival, West hit the stage at the Belmont's S.O.B. showcase with fellow rap star Big Sean to support the Def Jam label's latest talent.
The three hip-hop stars performed Dance (A$$) and Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay together before West, dressed smartly in a tuxedo, took the spotlight for a rendition of his fan favourite Can't Tell Me Nothing.
The S.O.B. showcase also featured aspiring acts like Machine Gun Kelly and R&B singer Miguel.
It's the second year in a row West and Jay-Z have appeared at SXSW - in 2011 they performed together as The Throne.
Bruce Springsteen also stunned revellers at SXSW on Wednesday night by joining Alejandro Escovedo onstage for an impromptu jam.
The Born to Run hitmaker is in Austin to make a highly-anticipated speech at the music extravaganza ahead of his concert on Thursday but he announced his presence early with a surprise guest appearance, according to RollingStone.com.
Escovedo called the veteran rocker onstage at the close of his set at the Austin Music Awards on Wednesday, and Springsteen provided guitar and backing vocals on four songs, including The Midnight Train and a rousing rendition of the Rolling Stones' track Beast of Burden.
