Is Kanye West naming his new album 'I Am God'?

There are conflicting reports about the name of Kanye's next album, though it could be a "half tongue-in-cheek" reference to the rapper's supposed Messiah complex.

Not only is Kanye West's baby's name the subject of fevered speculation, the title of the rapper's forthcoming album is also making headlines.

Though BBC News reported this weekend that Kanye West could name his next album, "I Am God," a source told E! News the rumor wasn't true.

"The title Kanye is supposed to be contemplating for his new album, I Am God, is said to be "half tongue-in-cheek," Charles Nevin wrote for the BBC last week. West's forthcoming sixth album would be his first since "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," which dropped in 2010.

An E! News source denied that West was even considering "I Am God" as an album name.

But a tweet from Roots' drummer Questlove seemed to suggest that the audacious album title is still in the running:

West has been criticized for having an ego-centric personality before, and maybe even a God complex. He famously posed as Jesus on a 2006 cover of Rolling Stone.
