Kanye West 'Cruel Winter' album not happening, says Common

Kanye West's supposed new album Cruel Winter has been denied by one of his G.O.O.D Music label artists.

US rapper Common - who is signed to West's label - has branded claims of a follow-up to 2012's Cruel Summer as rumours.

"Oh, yeah, nah, nah. I don't think that's happening," Common told Vulture of the project. "It was more of a rumour - cats been creating, but everybody's been doing their solo album. So that's what that is."

The star's claims contradict Big Sean's quotes at the end of 2012, which heavily hinted at! a new collection from G.O.O.D Music before spring.

"Oh God. Swerve. Yeah, you're gonna get it. You gotta wait and see man, I don't know. It can't be Cruel Spring. It's gotta be in a timely fashion," Big Sean said.

"I know I did something for it, for Cruel Winter, and I was like 'Godammit, I need to cut this for my album because it's really good'."

Cruel Summer reached number two on the US Billboard 200 chart and two on the UK compilations chart upon its release in September 2012.
